Art Needs No Roof festival

This July – August Vilnius has reinvented itself once again, it transformed into a giant open-air art gallery: 100 works of art by a selected 100 artists in the heart of the capital were on exhibit as part of the three-week long Art Needs No Roof festival.

Since 2020 the quarantine forced art galleries to close and kept artists from exhibiting their work and being able to reach out to audiences and collectors. An open-air gallery was a creative way to bring the city’s art community some much-needed exposure. For a second year in a row the festival returns to the city and will run till mid August 2022.

My artwork “Matter, Energy, Space, Time” is on the billboard in the Old Town of Vilnius. Find it at the junction of Trakai/Pylimo streets.

The 100 outdoor billboards in the centre of Vilnius exhibit everything from painting, printmaking, photography, to sculpture and video art and it has undoubtedly brought a new aesthetic to the city.

It became a new attraction for the locals to visit all the artworks following the points on the interactive map.

I’d like to invite you to come and walk around Vilnius and discover the artwork for yourself.
